This high altitude, delta wing, jet-engine bomber operated with the RAF from 1956 – 1984.
The Vulcan bomber was designed to utilise high-speed and high-altitude flight to evade interception by enemy fighters and missiles.
It was one of three V-bomber designs operated exclusively by the Royal Air Force and it carried a crew of five.
